Laura (Lali) Formaggia, PhD. HN, B.Ed. ( Arg), Dipl TCM, R. AC, RNCP, TLT, FCM was born in Argentina where she has graduated from "The Universidad Nacional de Cuyo" in Mendoza, Argentina with a Bachelors Degree in Education. In Canada, she graduated from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson, B.C. with a diploma in Traditional Chinese medicine after completing a four year full time program.
After her studies in Chinese medicine, she completed her internship in Cuba at the "Clinica de Medicina Alternativa" in the province of Matanzas, where Oriental and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment are used together in a Western medical Hospital setting. She has added post-graduate advanced studies in the area of pain management with a variety of therapeutic injection modalities. During her internship she was introduced to injection therapies for pain syndrome like bio-puncture, neurotherapy, prolotherapy and ozone applications. Following that interest, she began her post-graduate trajectory focusing on pain syndrome management.
She has studied and trained at the Pacific Institute for advanced acupuncture injection techniques according to TCM paradigms from 2004 to 2006, in BC. She has trained in Peripheral Joint Injection Therapy - RIT certification courses from 2006 to 2009 in the USA and Canada. She is also trained and certified by the Blatman International Myofascial Academy in pain management using Acupuncture Injection Therapies, Trigger Point Therapies, Prolotherapy and PRP from 2011 to 2014.
Lali has followed her interest in sports medicine and done certified training with Whitfield Reeves. She also participates as a Teaching Assistant at the Society for Acupoint Injection Therapy (SAIT) in B.C., Canada from 2010. Recently she has been certified in injection therapies for pain reduction utilizing ozone by AAO American Association of Ozone Therapies (September 2015) in USA. She has also completed in 2016 the AAOM International Workshop: Interventional Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine in Practice.
Lali has passion and dedication for integrated medicine and believes in the body’s ability to maintain and restore balance and health. Her view of a comprehensive approach to the "pain syndrome" includes the the nutritional component. Following her interest and dedication to natural sciences has led her to obtain a PhD in Holistic Nutrition. She has completed courses in Homeopathy from British Institute of Homeopathy. She considers nutrition as a fundamental aspect for optimal recovery and body performance.
She is a registered RNCP, registered nutritional certified practitioner and member of IONC: International Organization of Nutritional Consultants, member of AHANAOA : Hispano-American Association of alternative and orthomolecular nutrition and anti-aging. Lali is a certified instructor for Physiological Nutrition. She is also a Registered Laser Therapist specializing in low intensity laser therapy ( LILT). Lali uses this therapy to address musculo-skeletal pain, swelling and inflammation ; allowing remodeling and healing of tissues. As well, LILT is utilized to activate connective tissue cells, stimulating skin cell regeneration in esthetic application such as scarring.
Presently, she is a board member of ARIIA-Acupoint and the Regeneration Injection International Association, which is dedicated to providing Accupuncturists, OMD's, Dr. TCM's and Injecting health professionals the best levels of injection training available. ARIIA aims to be a resource for all Injection therapies and provide a database for legislation efforts. Lali has an active outpatient practice in Victoria and Salt Spring Island, BC

Dr. Magda Leon has an interest in Cosmetic Dermatological conditions, Medical Aesthetics and Antiaging Medicine. She has a medical background in Emergency Surgery and Intensive Care. As well as sharing the passion with Lali to address body issues with effective natural modalities. Dr. Leon and Lali work together in providing Integrative Health Strategies.
